Chia is a designer working in New York City and Palm Beach. Raised on the island of Guam by a German father and Colombian mother, she considers herself a citizen of the world and struggles to fill out the Census. She is an avid people-watcher who loves the eureka moment of finding insights that solve everyday human problems. Paper goods, cute Japanese pens, and info-graphics are items she has an affinity for and collects. Chia is happiest working on projects, spending time on the computer listening to Spotify and working on layouts. She is always looking for projects and is often the champion of the underdog, happy to help other young entrepreneurs with design.

Chia completed her Bachelors in Business Administration at Parsons The New School for Design, where she majored in Design + Management. The focus of her studies was design strategy with an emphasis on ethnographic research, innovative design, product development, and creative solutions for businesses and non-profits. She completed her thesis work at Columbia Business School, where she participated in an intensive luxury management course and had the opportunity to work directly with the CEO of Loro Piana.

In addition to her studies, Chia developed two viable products for market while at Parsons. One project received an investment offer of $20,000.00 and the other received a mention on the Fast Co. Design Blog. She has completed freelance projects and consulted for the Museum of Arts and Design and Vivaldi Partners. Her strengths lay in typography, layout, and brand identities. Other fields of expertise include product development, business methodology and strategy, ethnographic research and design strategy.

Chia currently works at Sylvain Labs as a Strategist.
